And this is exactly how to peak many more people! I felt any residual shreds of kindness I still felt toward trans activists shed today, and I am a fairly kind person who tries to be fair.

The bans are clearly aimed at all vulva women whose human rights are to be meat for porn subreddits and not one single thing more. We are not allowed to exist as human beings, we are not allowed to speak at all unless it is in adulation of some brave and stunning transitioner or in trying to find out how to be a better and more submissive helpmate to men.

We are not even allowed to name ourselves anymore, because doing so is exclusion and other groups are so much more valuable, more vulnerable and more fragile, despite the fact that those other groups (extreme trans activists, really) seem to be ruling large chunks of the Internet, seem to be powerful enough to get people fired, and seem to have vast and powerful organizations in their back pockets. And they now have the right to define us and to name us on the woke left.

That fighting for our hard-won and quite recent rights is bigotry is such a DARVO feat! Yet that interpretation is the winning one. Nobody is allowed to point out that, actually, rights here just might clash, because only the rights of one side in the war matter.

I have read about the transing of the dead which turns so many role models women used to have in history into trans men or at least nonbinary people, and I ask myself what role models the new type of "woman," the one based on only self-identity might be allowed to have, and all I come up with is porn stars, Stepford wives and the Barbie doll.

Yet to express any hesitation about the current wild careening into a world like that is transphobia and bigotry.

When I was younger we were always fighting the right side to gain more rights for women and stop rigid gender roles. Never in a million years would I have believed that left politics would be just as bad for women. It seems so much more insidious as well as its all under the umbrella of 'wokeness' and correctthink.

Ya I really feel politically lost in all this.

yes. I hate leftist culture right now but I also dont wanna get pushed towards extreme right wing. and I know myself to be a black and white thinker sometimes

That's why spaces like this are so important. Without some place like this I could very well see myself saying ''fuck it, I'm the hateful conservative TERF you think I am for disagreeing with even 5% of what you say, will you be happy now?''. I'd never say vote for someone like Trump but damn.

Yes, feeling much that way myself. Actually might vote Tory if they explicitly opposed this crap.

It is untenable, in my opinion, to explicitly identify with either the "Culture War" Left or the "Culture War" Right. If you do any political activism it's probably smart to just focus on specific issues like Women's Rights and lobby whichever politicians are least insane on these kinds of topics. Building independent parallel institutions is the single most important thing we need to do in the medium term so that we can prevent another complete subversion of Feminist activism from re-occurring in the future. The short term future looks horrible as the wokies have ridiculous power due to a lot of the Left and a lot of Corporations completely capitulating to their demands. With hard work and dedication, however, I think we can get back to circa ~2012 women's issues policies in 10 to 20 years. (Just trying to be realistic)

They are not the only options. It is just another false dichotomy created to confuse and divide people. Even in the classical political compass sense there are at least 4 "sides" of the political spectrum. Unfortunately the current iteration of the fashionable "left" is an authoritarian faction, but you can also be a libertarian leftist, a centrist, or just not call yourself any of those labels at all. Actually thinking for yourself and having integrity is something really worth valuing, not a meaningless amorphous label that changes meaning with the times.

I'm libertarian left according to the political compass test. but I find that a lot of the "woke" crowd is also lib left. like the kind that say Fuck T*rfs

Not sure in what universe people who want to censor and control speech are "libertarian" lmao.

Been trying to explain this to my kids, how shocking this is for older feminists.

Hopefully, the more and more the trans movement pisses off sane people, the more people realize what a horrible mistake that supporting the trans movement's delusional demands was. The trans community is literally the worst thing to have happened to the LGB movement and quite literally engages in homophobia.

And it's so ironic and odd how these people constantly pat themselves on the back saying they're "on the right side of history." Yeah, we'll see what the later history books say about that... not that the history books in schools are a good source of facts as it is. Maybe they'll be painted as on "the right side of history" by whoever censors those later books.

I think if most people understood that the main drivers of this are men with AGP who generally don't make any attempt to physically transition, they'd peak in an microsecond.

I just watched the Posey Parker vs Dr. Shitface Harrop TRA for the first time yesterday and he was literally telling her the definition of a woman was transphobic.

hi. i'm here! someone who has newly "peaked" i suppose. i only learned about being "gender critical" after the JK Rowling tweets and now i sit here in a bit of disbelief over what is apparently the new "woke" opinion--no female only spaces... no talking about how my experience as a woman has been fundamentally shaped by my fucking biological SEX. i did not know that this is what many in the trans-community were arguing for and as a person who had traditional "liberal" views on trans-rights up until like a week ago, it has really thrown me for a loop.

i'm just so so sad. i've always known that reddit (as with most places) fucking hates women, but i'm still really disappointed and confused. glad to be here though to learn and chat.

It's scary when you first peak and get to stare this bare-faced misogyny right in the face.
