This is an interesting article about the medium-term side effects on the women who were given Luperon for precocious puberty: https://www.statnews.com/2017/02/02/lupron-puberty-children-health-problems/

Wow, I was on this for 4 years because of precocious puberty and this article was a really interesting read and perhaps explains some of the injuries I keep getting despite being very gentle in my workouts. :( Luckily I'm mostly healthy and do not regret taking it but it's upsetting that this information was never available to my family.

You poor thing! I hope you continue to be mostly healthy, and at least now you know what’s causing your problems.

Is there actually a danger to precocious puberty?

Why block it in the first place?

The only physical dangers are shortness (exactly) and pregnancy if a child is raped (that has actually happened in India).

All other concerns are psychological.

So similar to giving thalidomide for morning sickness, the risks (any risk) don't out weigh the benefits for most.

before i was aware that there were any drawbacks to the drugs, i used to wish i'd had been given some as a child.

I was a B cup by the time i was ten years old, and men were already terrifying me. Following me, catcalling, sexually intimidating, etc. It was awful. To this day, i am still extremely leery around men as a result. But last year i learned that those drugs lower the IQ, affect bone density, etc, and was extremely glad nobody ever gave me any.
