Just because trans women think that we should value gender over sex doesn't mean that women who value sex over gender need to get in line.

Someone on there is actually saying that the anti-porn subs are for “SWERFs” who hate sex workers. Talk about cognitive dissonance. I know that there are a couple anti-porn subs that are male dominated and pretty misogynistic and racist, but the feminist-moderated ones are absolutely NOT.

Feminist subs are against the degradation, abuse, and exploitation of women in porn and prostitution- period. In fact, I’ve read many comments from women who have become radical feminists after their horrible experiences with porn producers, actors, and johns. What kind of doublespeak is it to say that criticizing the degradation of women (at the hands of men) is “anti-sex worker”? I guarantee they’d tell any sex worker who announced she is a rad fem to “shut up, Karen” (aka shut up, c*nt) and “this is a sex-positive space.” 🙄

I actually went through that whole "sex-positive" (not really) porn-consuming thing in my twenties. Didn't wholly quit for years after, though pared it back a LOT (and yes, I'm female), but it gives me a perspective that pro-porn people often think we're lacking. There is no fucking way the industry respects women. None. Not with the way they so often depict them. For every depiction that seems happy and positive and celebratory of the subject there are at least 100 others calling her nasty names and depicting her as a full-on object. I tended to avoid the latter like the plague.

Thing is, guys are literally choosing this woman-hating, sensuality-devaluing interpretation of sexuality to wank to. I don't get it. It's not fun, it causes lots of conflict and trauma. And I don't think most of these guys really are sociopaths. Why are they so willing to settle for less? I see that pattern in a lot of modern society, actually, and not just about porn or sex by a long shot. "I think I'll go with this complete piece of crap over something that's higher quality, better for me, and a lot more fun." I swear we all hate ourselves or something.

That’s the perfect way of putting it. The garbage porn these guys seem to spend 24/7 consuming isn’t even a semi-quality representation of sexuality, especially female sexuality. It’s so fake and cheesy that it’s only worth bursting out laughing at, if it didn’t involve strangulation, slapping, spitting, “rape” and fugly guys shouting slurs and other nasty shit. Somewhere it their lizard brain, it all taps in to male performance anxiety and their Madonna-wh*re complex, and their resulting hatred of sexually actively women who enjoy it.

It makes the average male even worse and more selfish in bed than they already were, with not a clue or care how to satisfy their partner. So sex-positive, right? 🙄

I agree that most of these guys aren’t sociopaths, but actively choosing to spend most of their sexually mature lives jacking off to this crap will definitely make them a dysfunctional mess and pretty sick in the head.There’s no way it doesn’t leak into their “real” lives.

The TIM virtue signaling about sex workers is just another porn addicted man unwilling to relinquish his massive collection of pirated abuse vids. Men constantly tell women who’ve worked in the sex industry to STFU if they don’t give a glowing review of their ”sexually liberating”, amazing experience. They’re not sex-positive, they’re exploitation-positive.

I had a long relationship with a porn addict, and after reading many many other accounts from other women, I came to realize this was a HUGE problem that seemed to have a common pattern among men.
At this point, I refuse to date a frequent porn user, flat out. It just damages their brains.
