So? How is it anti-female?

It's an insult specifically for women. The excuse is that it's only for 'entitled' women who act like arseholes, but imagine if you made an insult for any other marginalised group. Pick one. Imagine it. Imagine if your excuse were "oh, but it's only for people (of that category) who are lazy/deceitful/perverted/violent" or whatever. You can't do that. It might start off as a way to single out women who are entitled arseholes, but it ends up as a stereotype that all (especially white, middle class) women are entitled arseholes. Soon enough it will be used to just insult and silence women, any women, even if their behaviour is not entitled.

Alice, people are posting photos of random middle-age women in public and mocking them as Karens. Not because of their behavior, but because of their age and womanhood. Just being female and unsexy is now enough to deserve public shaming. Groups of men and women without masks are being labelled as Karens and people act as if only women are the problem while men get a pass. "Karen" may have started over rude women but now it is being used as code to villainize vast numbers of women who've done nothing wrong.

On the former GC someone posted an article that Karen started on Reddit. Here’s a Vox post explaining the phenomenon.

The “Karen” meme has multiple origins, each one using the idea in slightly different ways. But one of the most prominent uses developed on Reddit, thanks to a redditor known for posting amusingly bitter invectives about his ex-wife — posts so amusing, they inspired a high school student to make an entire subreddit, r/FuckYouKaren, devoted to turning his saga into a meme.

Karmacop97 is a 17-year-old from Irvine, California. He made the subreddit two years ago as a joke and named it after the now-deleted user account Fuck_You_Karen. At first, karmacop97 told me, the subreddit was “just to compile the lore behind this guy’s relationship,” which he viewed as likely being a parody. The villainous Karen had taken the kids and then the house, both typical parts of the “Karen” meme. Soon, a few thousand redditors had subscribed to make memes based on the redditor’s enraged posts — but when that aggrieved user eventually deleted his account and vanished shortly after the subreddit’s creation, the forum kept growing. Since then, the subreddit has grown from 4,000 redditors to more than 435,000 — and the memes posted there call out all kinds of “Karen”-ish behavior.

Reddit IS the problem because it STARTS the misogyny. It’s probably good Reddit banned us, it brings women together and once we’re together, we’re strong. We all shared the exile on Reddit, it brought us the only safe harbor we have — in other women who were also victimized by men.
