Wow. They've simultaneously overestimated "visibility by platform" and the general level of public support for TRA, and underestimated the will of the curious, and how much backchannel convo there's been around this for years.

Long on tech savvy, maybe. But short on Psych101, common sense, and how people actually form, test out, and share ideas.

And, frankly, underestimated the level of support for radical feminist ideas among libfems as long as they're not called radical feminist ideas. An awful lot of women who would swear blind that radfems were horrible mean bitter old fashioned hags will agree with radfem criticisms of surrogacy, prostitution, the unintended (by women) effects of the sex positivity movement, and even the primacy of the nuclear family as long as you don't mention the r-word.

My final post on /r/uk before they banned me for wrong-speak was in a response to a TRA who was trying to goad me about /gc being banned, i remarked to him how liberal feminism was for men and radical feminism was for women, mods banned and reason given "I doubt you understand the difference between them" - OH please excuse my tiny female brain, i cannot possibly understand what radical feminism is and MUST be informed by a penis-haver! How the fuck did we get the point of men dictating what feminism is to women??? Just told em to straight fuck off, no fucks given, why bother being polite when they're insulting my intelligence to the point of treating me like a child. Idiots.

Absolutely true. And (holy crap) it sounds like quite a few of them are pushing through their r-word fear because of the antics of their woke boyfriends (!). Didn't expect that. 😄

Sorry but what's the r-word?

The primacy of the nuclear family

Really? The nuclear family is a trap set for women. Generational structures in which grandmothers aid mothers(grandfathers don't live long without medical intervention tbqh) is much better for both women and children.

I think Reddit and other male dominated sites in general always underestimate how many women use the internet and how given the opportunity, women will generally think for themselves and form their own communities and ideologies.

We like each others company that is why. Women love talking together. I am on a number of women's rights pages, some more radical than another...none ever abuse me or put me down. They are gentle spaces.
