I don't care how many users or subs they have. Don't support a site that supports censorship and the abuse of women. I have deleted my account and will NEVER return.

I'm keeping my account and screen capping all the misogynistic garbage I see there and I'll share it with the world. That's the only reason I'm keeping it. Someone has to do it.

I have also deleted my reddit account after the banning of GC. I was an avid reddit user for three years and enjoyed browsing many different subs but it's become clear women aren't welcome anymore, so here I am.

Ok, I found it. I had to go to the regular site and it was somewhere under settings as “deactivate account”.

I’m trying to get “banned” by posting my views as GC but it hasn’t worked yet... so, how do you delete your acct? I don’t see anything on the app.

Yeah, but what am I gonna mindlessly look at when I’m bored at work all day huh?

They didn’t ban any users because they want us to continue to participate. It sucks but I’ve been thinking about quitting for a while, just cuz of the misogyny that reaches the front page every day. And those boohoo for men posts, right before the ban there were like 3 different “men have it so rough” threads on the front page. I won’t miss those!

I left that male-infested sewer a while back and will never return. They can have their sad circlejerk over there. I just wonder when the next incel from there is going to go out on another attempted woman killing spree. It could happen at any time.

You know, I wasn’t going to leave Reddit. I’ve been there for ten years and made many different alts for different interests, now mostly abandoned. I’ve used it to keep in touch with my local community, my profession, and my hobbies. I was fully aware of the prevailing misogyny but I thought I could hide in my little niches of sanity and ignore the larger reality. I wasn’t even that active on my feminist account and I felt unwelcome at times as an older, straight, non-gaming woman. But now that the GC subs have been taken down while the foulest porn subs stay up it just lays bare how hostile the whole site is to my personhood. Behind every meme or animal pic I see a porn-addled womanhater and it’s just not funny anymore. Reddit’s site structure is addictive and I’ve struggled at times to stay off it, but it doesn’t feel tempting anymore.

So thanks, TRAs, for killing my Reddit addiction. Hope you drown in your own spooge.
