Reddit has been a cesspool for a long, long time. It chilled discussion, prevented many women from speaking their minds, and made them depressed as they thought they had to kowtow to rapists. Each post you were making, you had to think, "aw crap, this place is run by rapists, if I'm too honest I'll hurt my sisters". Reddit troons kept each woman hostage against everyone else.

Now they don't. The ban changed nothing else. The world is run by the same people as the day before. Don't be sad.

The thing I’m worried about is that to outstanders, GC will seem like a hate-sub. Reddit also had the opportunity to reach a lot more people than saidit. But oh well, Reddit sucks

Outsiders were already being told that we were a HATE SUB everywhere. Weirdly, it often worked in our favor. It's the streisand effect, you tell people not to look at something and that's all they wanna do. People came over to get worked up at the BIGOTED TRANS HATERS ACTUALLY MURDERING TRANS PEOPLE WITH THEIR HATEFUL WORDS and found out that we are actually reasonable, and on this topic just plainly correct. There were many who peaked that way. So this might work even better. We're now the FEMINAZI HATE GROUP that was so EVIL even reddit had to ban us, and now we've got an offsite forum, a lot of people are going to be interested in seeing what we're about. I'd guess more than a few will find us while looking into the bans.

A lot of people believe all the rewriting of history regarding stonewall, that GC hates all trans people and wants them to die, that no lesbian is ever threatened by TiMs. Before they could easily look up for themselves if that was true but most didn't and continued being ignorant. Now it'll be even worse. The true hammer in the coffin is when all rad fem discourse is banned on twitter

This ban wave is pissing of a lot of people. Not just women. No doubt said it will grow in the coming time

Yep. The material reality of it is depressing, but -- JKR shock + Reddit ban shock + US election year angst/UK Gender Recognition Act reform scrapping and Tavistock exposé = a lot of women waking up all at once. People are asking questions they didn't dare ask before.
