We have always kept on topic and discuss feminist topics, specifically gender ideology although we do discuss other radical feminist topics.

We don't have many spaces where we can talk amongst ourselves without being bombarded with questions designed to derail our discussions.

If I see something that I think is doing that I will remove it.

I understand your position. This whole site however seems set up so that someone like me can engage someone like you in civil debate. People like me may challenge the foundations upon which your ideology rests, not out of malice - but because we feel it's harmful. This could very well end up "derailing" a discussion or mutating it into a different one altogether, but that's the nature of debate. You can always ignore such people and carry on as if they aren't there. It's your right - censoring though is running against the grain of the existent culture.

Gender Critical is not an echo chamber, we debate and discuss amongst ourselves but we have key ideas that we all share and are unable to share elsewhere.

A place that's restricts conversation to only people who agree on shared principles, is by definition an echo chamber. I probably disagree with you folks on all core principles, yet there are plenty of extensions of those principles that would cause us to be on the same side in specific instances.

/u/magnora7 - What's your take on the stated objectives? To date I haven't seen any significant sub-level censorship here outside of spam. Would banning interlopers to keep discussion within editorialized boundaries be concordant with Saidit principles, or not?

So far I have only removed comments with slurs in. I don't intend to alienate the site at large, which is why when we are able to we want to get the debate subs up and running.

Currently that's my only specific request in terms of conduct here - to avoid slurs, 65000 female users over on Reddit have now been made homeless and will likely trickle into this sub over the coming week.

I would only consider banning anyone from this space who are using slurs currently.

People are welcome to engage you in debate if they want to, it's just that they may not want to given the current circumstances.

I'm not recommending this necessarily but the most popular sub here is actually hidden from the frontpage unless you're subscribed. We're toxic and incapable of meaningful debate, so by excluding outsiders from the frontpage no one really comes around to hold us to it. Maybe that would be a good delineation between GC and whatever debate sub(s) you create - one serving as a more personal space and another involving the site's community at large. Maybe that's a terrible idea too, I'm just throwing out there.

All the same welcome to saidit and I hope you all stick around, it's great to see more intellectual diversity here.

Thank you, I think separating GC and a GC debate sub is the best way forward. It means that those that want to debate have a space to do so but we will also have a space to discuss amongst ourselves. I would heartily encourage GC users here to engage with civil discourse until we can get the full range of subs set up.

I have specified some conduct around the use of slurs and I don't intend to start banning anyone, although I will remove comments with slurs in them.

like they were saying above, there is the option with SaidIt's policies to use moderator rule 4b if you want to be pickier about what perspectives or people are allowed a sub:

4a) Mods cannot remove user comments that are both in good faith and on-topic.

4b) Mods CAN remove opposing opinions that are high on the pyramid of debate, and ban those users on that sub, if and only if the 2 following conditions are met: 1: The fact the sub removes opposing opinions is announced in the sub's sidebar. 2: The mods uncheck the sub setting "allow this sub to appear on /all"

It's an option.

Thanks for that. It's something we will definitely consider.
