We have always kept on topic and discuss feminist topics, specifically gender ideology although we do discuss other radical feminist topics.

We don't have many spaces where we can talk amongst ourselves without being bombarded with questions designed to derail our discussions.

If I see something that I think is doing that I will remove it.

I understand your position. This whole site however seems set up so that someone like me can engage someone like you in civil debate. People like me may challenge the foundations upon which your ideology rests, not out of malice - but because we feel it's harmful. This could very well end up "derailing" a discussion or mutating it into a different one altogether, but that's the nature of debate. You can always ignore such people and carry on as if they aren't there. It's your right - censoring though is running against the grain of the existent culture.

Gender Critical is not an echo chamber, we debate and discuss amongst ourselves but we have key ideas that we all share and are unable to share elsewhere.

A place that's restricts conversation to only people who agree on shared principles, is by definition an echo chamber. I probably disagree with you folks on all core principles, yet there are plenty of extensions of those principles that would cause us to be on the same side in specific instances.

/u/magnora7 - What's your take on the stated objectives? To date I haven't seen any significant sub-level censorship here outside of spam. Would banning interlopers to keep discussion within editorialized boundaries be concordant with Saidit principles, or not?

So far I have only removed comments with slurs in. I don't intend to alienate the site at large, which is why when we are able to we want to get the debate subs up and running.

Currently that's my only specific request in terms of conduct here - to avoid slurs, 65000 female users over on Reddit have now been made homeless and will likely trickle into this sub over the coming week.

I would only consider banning anyone from this space who are using slurs currently.

People are welcome to engage you in debate if they want to, it's just that they may not want to given the current circumstances.

I look forward to the debate subs - I'm not about to interject myself in things just to be an ass. I have more decorum than that.

Awesome, that's good to know.

When we get them up and running we will add them to our sidebar as sister subs.

Just asking, would y'all be open to running another GC sub that isn't just for women only? As a guy I want to discuss all these issues too, but I feel like I'm intruding esp. after seeing comments on GC Reddit previously pretty much telling dudes to screw off from GC and find their own space.

Yes! We are limited in the subs we can replace at this time - we have all been made homeless so we are going to have to muddle through together for now.

If you are able to, you can make the sub yourself, if not it will be a sub I will get to once I am able to.

I am not going to ban anyone unless they are consistently using slurs or doxxing. We are settling in to the new site and will keep an eye on it.

No. Bye.

Hey, hi!

When communities are mixed sex, they become male dominated communities. Look what happened to TwoXChromosomes when it went default. For the moment, r/gendercriticalguys still exists. If you are concerned about that space going away, I would recommend starting a mirror for that sub.

Why don't you run it yourself? Why is it the job of GC women to run a sub for GC men?

[–]deepfriednuggets 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Please don't put words into my mouth. I'm not saying that it's their job to do it for men or whatever you think I'm saying. Since the mods said they were looking to create sister subs, is it not reasonable to ask if they would consider making a general one for everybody. Evidently there's a lot of toxicity against men here, from the comments that I've already received from a simple question like mine.

We're struggling to rebuild a rare women-focused environment. Most of the women centered subreddits that don't welcome men were wiped out in the ban wave. GCG is STILL UP. Regardless of whether you said the words explicitly or not, I think it's valuable to consider why you would ask the women of GC to recreate GCG on this site. Being a male feminist ally means recognizing the burden of women's labor and working to share the load.
