How can they even do this? Once you buy something and have it physically, you own it. I'm tired of so many companies thinking otherwise. Companies powerful enough to get legislation passed through the Japanese government

Probably pissed the Nintendo Switch mods have decimated its security.

That is a great point. I still have an R4DS, which worked great.
Nintendo then probably tried to fix the console to solve the R4DS dilemma, but players modified the consoles to get around this.
