It's a joke. In Skyrim the guards often say they used to be an adventurer like the player until they took an arrow to the knee. It is said so frequently it gets rather annoying so there's a meme about it.

Although my hands are arthritic, I can only play so much these days. So seemed fitting.

I thought it was a reference to some game I didn't know. It's another world that I do not know.
