If you buy a PS5, you're literally a freaking dumbass. Heres $500 for a console that is the same as last year, but with a slightly better tech inside.

Same for the Xboner One-Two. It's the same architecture and you're literally going to be buying the same games, but for $70 instead of $60.

If you want to game during the pandemic, nintendo is the only one that still lets you OWN your games. And if you are trading them in or reselling them- the game doesnt lose $30 the day after you buy it.

Plus the titles they make are pretty much universally good - (Zelda, Mario Galaxy, even the Doom port was pretty decent for a gameboy); you can play the multiplayer (mario kart or tennis) with ONE console and ONE game... for almost every xBonEr and PS5 game you need 1 CONSOLE AND 1 Game PER PERSON.

You can probably count the number of Multiplayer games that DONT require the $50/yr online subscription for PS5/XBone on one hand.

  • the nintendo is only $300 (cheap as f for what it is) and you can play any game without a tv or on the road.

It's also great if you have kids and nieces.

It's selling like crazy since the pandemic so nintendo will likely be supporting it for a long time yet...

And if you don't want to buy $60 games, there are a TON of indie games that have been ported to it, there might even be more than on both PS5 and Xbox combined.

If youre a nerd and you want to game at 1440p or higher, just buy a pc. The game library is practically infinite, and you can spend $500-800 for a system that will last you for years, and do more than just video games.

Instead of buying a whole new system in 3 years, you could replace one or two components, only.

Yeah, I like nintendo now.

The Zen 2 CPU in the PS5 is worth $350 alone. It is based on an architecture that propelled AMD's stock price of $2.50 to $85.00 today. The PS4 is in no way the same console as a PS5.

" but will either downscale from a 4K output or upscale from a 1080p one"

Oh noes. Not downscale.... That sounds like a bad word!

Oh wait, it actually means it will render higher, and sample it down, which improves visuals on lesser resolutions. So it would seem this 'bad news' is actually 'good news' being misrepresented.

There will be releases for ps4 still but when the new consoles come out eventually the new games will only be for the new gen consoles.

There are a few PS exclusives I want the ps5 for like zero dawn 2, Uncharted, Left for Dead. I also use our ps4 as an alternative to cable rather than also own something like Roku.

As an older gamer I don't generally play multiplayer anymore. My twitches just can't keep up with the youngsters. So I don't need the online subscription. It's also just $60 for a year, so hardly a big bill. Some PC games charge more than that for just one game's online access.

just buy a pc.

Consoles are a lot easier. You know your console will run the game, there's no maintenance, problem fixing, viruses, etc. When you have a console you know it'll play the console games without fuss.

It's cool you like Nintendo, but personally most of their games don't appeal to me. It's generally just a different style, and only certain titles are crossplatform.

Is that really surprising? The overwhelming majority of consoles will be played on a TV, and most TVs are either 1080p or 4K
