level of this comment: name-calling

level of parent (OP): hard to tell. ad-hominem against ADL? just sharing news?

idk. It's a little hard to know how to handle the pyramid of debate here. I would think this comment is pyramid-lowering but it's a little hard to tell.

I'm just pointing out the young male demographic typical of "gamers" also has an aggressive tendency, often expressed through the speech they use which on the surface seems hate-filled and derogatory; the volume level and frequencies experienced being akin to the chimpanzee exhibit at a zoo. With the counter-point being that much like other aggressive displays, it is just that, a mere display with no real harmful intent nor motive behind it.

How is posting someone else's words an ad-hominem?

I was sharing gaming related news.

The pyramid of debate generally only applies to user on user interactions here, debates. If I called you an edge lord 12 year old, that's low pyramid. It's not policing opinions, but interactions.

/s/coontown was banned because "low-information hatred is at the bottom of the pyramid of debate." There was no mention of that being regarding user-on-user interactions.

That's true, that's why I said generally with a ninja edit. I would have left coontown up and just banned the user.
