Nice to see you around again! Glad you and yours are well!

Things are super busy here. Since February, I’ve gone from doing one domestic clean a week as a favour, to having a cleaning business with an employee, getting truckloads of contracts from a local real estate, plus recommendations from them to a second, larger real estate company. It’s amazing and very lucky but wow it came outta nowhere. Physical labour has led to some crazy changes in my body but it’s been good. Didn’t think I’d enjoy not being a scrawny noodle so much. Only downside is now I can’t see anything but what needs scrubbing when I get home, lol.

Barely touched my sewing machine the last few months but it will be worth it come fabric shopping time, haha.

Best pies..strawberry-rhubarb-apple in short crust with homemade custard. I’ll have one of those for a last meal, plus vegetable gyoza, minestrone soup with too much pasta and beans, green beans with garlic and sesame seeds, and an entire loaf of toasted milk bread with some very high quality butter. And like six cups of coffee, no sugar. And a dampfnudel with blackberry filling!

I haven’t had lunch yet and it shows lol.

My arthritis is finally managed, and don’t need any biologics or methotrexate yet! Probably will in the next five years but that’s nothing to worry about now.

The families are doing well, everyone is well and happy, we’re all excited for a new nephew come the end of July.
Can’t help but think we’re an incredibly lucky bunch.

Hope everyone else here is just as lucky and having a good time.

Oooh hope you enjoy it! There’s a lot of variations but I recommend going heavy on the strawberry and layering the sliced fruits and rhubarb like a ratatouille. Or if you’re willing to really mess around, combine the fillings, cook them down with simple syrup, purée and strain, and then add a setting agent like gelatin or agar and then bake it in the crust.
Yeah I gotta make one now, it’s been years!
