You don’t see any conflicting interests in adults with castration fetishes being in a role to recommend therapies that result in acquired infertility in adolescents?

No because it's easy for people to compartmentalize their stuff and keep things in the bedroom. Most people have kinks or fantasies but do they affect you outside of a sex-life? No lol

If you had grown up and gone through life as a female, I think you might have a very different impression of the ability of "people to compartmentalize their stuff and keep things in the bedroom."

Fact is, lots of males especially don't "keep things in the bedroom." Ignoring and trampling girls' and women's boundaries and behaving inappropriately towards us when out in the world beyond the home and the bedroom so as to discomfit and frighten us is precisely what gets them off.

There are tons of guys whose kinks and fantasies definitely affect girls and women because as we are the sex that they target when out about in the world outside the home and bedroom. We are the ones at whom they aim all the public flashing, masturbating, leering, groping, humping, rubbing up against, harassing, pestering, catcalling, menacing, stalking, perving, etc that they do. We're the ones to whom they send unsolicited dic pics and rape and death threats; we're the ones they constantly tell to suck their dicks; we're the ones they jerk off at - whether at home in their bedrooms, or near us on public transport, at school and at work, on streets and hiking trails, at the park and the library, at the shopping mall and airport, and sitting stuck in traffic or at a red light.

Y'all always pull the male socialized card and it seems malicious tbh, but no, my upbringing hasn't made me blind. I've seen how gross and perverted men can be, I just didn't see it as much growing up. It's horrible to hear that a lot of girls first experience that as teens or younger.

Patriarchy is insidious and the behavior of bad men needs to be addressed, but that shouldn't change that we should expect adults to keep their bedroom life to themselves? Like, if you have an issue with individual people on WPATH then yeah I agree, but the problem is never just having a kink, because people don't decide that. It's their learned bad behavior.

Also it's not just you they target. I've been sexually assaulted and groped on public transport, catcalled at, had to walk home at night with a man following me, etc, all because they thought I was a woman regardless of any "truth". They target anyone who passes the exact same way, and they target anyone who doesn't pass with homophobia.

So like, do I have confidence that most men can keep their fetishes to themselves? No tbh, but I'm still going to say that they should, that's the expectation, and individually judge whether someone is breaking it.

Kinda feels disingenuous to compare this specific situation to people having milder paraphilias who aren’t in careers that heavily relate to the paraphilia.

This is closer to a questioning a surgeon who is aroused by touching your organs than questioning a Kmart employee who has a thing for leather.

Does being on WPATH heavily relate to having a castration kink?

The fact that multiple men who have positions of power within WPATH and who suggest early halting of puberty all share this particular extreme paraphilia is heavily related by all appearances, unless one is trying not to see it, yes.

Yeah that is pretty sus. I wish there was an org like WPATH but only made up of trans people tbh. By trans people for trans people kind of thing. It's frustrating to have ppl like that speaking for our healthcare.

Wait so do you still think they are compartmentalising and we shouldn’t question WPATH/people with harmful paraphilia?

First you defended these men so I’m rather confused.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I'm defending people's ability to have a kink and not make it known and have it separate from their job. From the original article they're publicly involved with eunuch forums with eunuch-specific erotica, so they're not keeping it separate from their jobs at WPATH.

Yikes. I disagree that most people have such extreme paraphilias.

So you think that the men working for WPATH and posting on the forums about raping, castrating, and murdering little boys is compartmentalising it and is fine to work with kids?

Id pull my kid out of school if I found out their teacher or principal was doing something similar.
