So fiction should only portray ideals and not anything realistic?

Not only, but exclusively the other. Why must fiction be bound by prejudice when it isn’t the point of the story?

Because the story is being told in a real world setting. It’s not a fantasy setting, it’s a story set in the actual world.

Idk how else to phrase it because it’s honestly pretty simple as a concept. Fiction can have enormous amounts of realism, and the existence of concepts in a story that aren’t nice are not actually an attack on the viewer.

It' s a ridicoulous concept. If the story had given the slightest hint that it takes place in some kind of parallel universe, then it would be another thing entirely.

But we are talking about realistic and historical settings that, in Mask' s mind, diverge from reality in one single element, which is that everyone respects the fact that trans women are women.

Ikr? Like, I get that it hurts masks feelings but it’s really wild to think that all fiction should cater to this tiny western audience, and not represent anything historical that was yucky.
