It was a fairly neutral response to your bringing morality into it in the first place, but I of course can't control what tone you decide to attach to my responses.

All I did was reiterate my position because you specified a moral obligation. As in, yes, I do not feel an obligation including a specifically moral obligation to help you. That's it. You've read far, far too into that one comment. Your issue seems to be with the defensive tone that you made up in your head, which you have decided means that I think you think it's a problem, when I've said no such thing.
