I hope it was fake. But the source seems bias, and the (lack of) evidence they provide is unconvincing. The fact that they published this article at all is kinda weird, if they really think its fake they should keep digging instead of publishing prematurely.

But even if it were fake, it doesn't change the core issue. And the violence from the protests is still disturbing.

How would you find evidence for a story about lack of evidence? Also is the blade not reputable?

[–]FlanJam 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (22 children)

You could find evidence that the woman who filmed the original video faked it. Or get her to admit it's fake. Or maybe collect testimony from women at the spa saying there was no trans people there.

I've never heard of the blade before, but the way this article was written does not inspire confidence.

There are at least two women confronting the manager, unless this magazine is accusing them both of making up a story out of the blue.

Why the hell would they do that and interrupt a relaxing spa day? It's clearly nonsense. Notice no one started saying it was fake until Antifa attacked the protesters.

I agree with you, there's no reason to think its fake. This article is basically conjecture and they shouldn't have published it as is tbh. I was just telling Heimdekledi what kind of evidence I think would be compelling.

Because they’re religious bigots who are trying to make a point? Also what about the source at the spa who said there wasn’t a trans woman at the spa that day?

[–]MarkTwainiac 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The woman complaining in the video footage never said the penis parader was trans. The spa staff said that. And so did the guy with the mustache who approached the woman to tell her she's "a dick." But the woman herself just kept saying that the person whose presence she & others objected to in the women's section "has a penis."

Whatever her religious & political views, her issue was with the dick waver's male anatomy, not his/her/their gender identity.

"Anonymous sources" who won't go on the record?

So these two "religious bigots" meet at the spa, total strangers, and decide to concoct a story about a fictional trans person in the jacuzzi near a 9 year old and 14 year old? It's ludicrous and insulting.

And there are other women who have had this type of experience at Wi Spa. This woman, a Democrat, and her 6 year old daughter experienced the same thing in January of 2020.

Don't you just LOVE modern media?

I am so tired of having to wonder if what I am reading from the news is even true anymore.

[–]HeimdeklediROAR[S] 2 insightful - 6 fun2 insightful - 5 fun3 insightful - 6 fun -  (15 children)

I mean they did mention that a source at the spa said there weren’t any trans people in the spa that day

How would they know since, according to your own arguments, it is impossible to see if someone is male, female, or transgender?

[–]HeimdeklediROAR[S] 2 insightful - 7 fun2 insightful - 6 fun3 insightful - 7 fun -  (3 children)

All trans people have a gender appropriate cutie mark on their ass .

[–]HouseplantWomen who disagree with QT are a different sex 12 insightful - 2 fun12 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

you cant answer that one and had to back way up to a mediocre joke, huh?

[–]HeimdeklediROAR[S] 1 insightful - 7 fun1 insightful - 6 fun2 insightful - 7 fun -  (1 child)

I mean you’re question was worded offensively in the first place. Transgender people are not a separate category

[–]HouseplantWomen who disagree with QT are a different sex 13 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 0 fun14 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes they are Besides, you always skip to language policing when you realise you fucked up and have made an argument that contradicts your past ones.

You will never control my language or thought. Kindly respond to my actual points, admit you have been proven wrong, or just don’t respond further if all you’ll be doing is making futile attempts to make me obey you.

[–]MarkTwainiac 11 insightful - 3 fun11 insightful - 2 fun12 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Yes, many days after this incident, spa staff said that none of their regular trans-identified customers had booked specific services that day.

But that's not an indication of whether a penis & balls possessing human decided to avail himself of the spa's general entrance "trans friendly" policy in order to infiltrate female-only spaces that day.

[–]FlanJam 10 insightful - 2 fun10 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Now I'm confused. Why did you ask "How would you find evidence for a story about lack of evidence?" if you already have an example of evidence?

Rabbit holes aside, my point is this story is flimsy and probably shouldn't have been publish in this state.

[–]HeimdeklediROAR[S] 2 insightful - 6 fun2 insightful - 5 fun3 insightful - 6 fun -  (1 child)

I mean the evidence is the lack of evidence so it feels like a weird situation?

[–]FlanJam 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Well kind of, I guess? You pointed out a source at the spa, that's one kind of evidence. And like I mentioned before, you can seek out evidence that the woman planned to fabricated the incident. Not saying it would be easy to prove if it was staged. But the article should've sought out more evidence before claiming it may have been staged. At this point it just feels like conjecture.

[–]questioningtw 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

They could easily be saying that to try to cover their asses.

[–]HeimdeklediROAR[S] 1 insightful - 5 fun1 insightful - 4 fun2 insightful - 5 fun -  (4 children)

They don’t need to cover their asses there would have been nothing wrong if a trans woman were using the area.

[–]questioningtw 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

So then are there a bunch of people that said their was a male in the dressing room for no reason? Sorry, I just don't believe that.

[–]HeimdeklediROAR[S] 1 insightful - 4 fun1 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

Two people so far, those making the accusations. That’s not a lot

[–]BiologyIsReal 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Only QT think that way, but most people don't think a male should be there just because he says he is a "woman". That is why TRA are saying now that this incident is a hoax made up by "transphobes" who want to smear trans identified people despite that Californian law does indeed allow any male to enter female only spaces as long as he says the magic words.

[–]HeimdeklediROAR[S] 1 insightful - 4 fun1 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

Not really, people are saying it was a hoax because there appears to be no evidence to the contrary except for the words of some christian bigots.
