I lost my job for being trans and was jobless for months and ultimately homeless as a direct result of me being trans.

I would most certainly lose my job for posting on my social media trans women are still biologically male and trans men are biological females. So I guess it goes both ways.

My family disowned me. As did the vast majority of my friends.

Most of my friends disowned me for expressing GC views.

I have been physically attacked (for using a men’s room no less) and knew that I couldn’t call the police because I would be arrested on pretense if I did.

If you were born female you're more than welcome to use the women's room.

It is potentially legal to deny even emergency medical care to use because you don’t like trans people In light of trump’s executive order on the subject.

According to the federal Emergency Medical and Treatment Labor Act a hospital cannot deny you emergency medical care for any reason.

I’m a trans woman. My point was I was beaten up for being where you say I should be.

According to the federal Emergency Medical and Treatment Labor Act a hospital cannot deny you emergency medical care for any reason.

And according to the executive order Trump issued, providers can deny care to trans people based on their own religious beliefs. Couching it in religious terms at minimum creates a defense against an ensuing lawsuit. That’s why I said “potentially legal.“

They can deny emergency care? That doesn't seem right. It's one thing if a Christian doctor won't prescribe hormones, but he or she should still be obligated to treat a trans person's heart attack or stroke or other serious medical ailment.

It’s unclear given the conflict. It would probably in theory be illegal to deny emergency care but impossible to win the lawsuit.

However they could absolutely deny routine nonemergency care like a flu shot or getting an antibiotic for a sinus infection or strep throat.

That's definitely not right. We need medical protections for all people. If you go to a doctor, you should expect to get quality care.

It's understandable if a doctor isn't capable of handling a trans-specific medical issue. But just to deny it because they disapprove is wrong.

I agree. It’s one of the big weaknesses in trans rights at this point and one Trump essentially created since the ACA had anti-discrimination rules covering us, that’s the reason for the executive order trump wrote.
