Both: How can we get more tucute and transmedicalist people on this sub?

I think we'd have better luck with transmedicalists. TRAs and GC mutually hate each other and very few outside people read this sub so there's little incentive for them to come here except maybe to deliberately cause trouble. They know they aren't going to convince any of us to agree with them about TWAW or most of the other crap they believe. I don't think there's the same level of animosity between GC and most transmeds. .

The problem with gender critical people and transmedicalists is that many of them have shockingly few differences certainly the more moderate types that are likely to spend time in a space dedicated to engaging people with different beliefs than you at least the transmeds who are over 25 or whatever. Especially when you put a transmed and a GC next to the TRA, they're going to get on okay.

From what I've seen GC has some substantial differences with a lot of the transmeds about stuff like transing children or the idea of gendered brains but we can at least agree with them about the nature of reality and don't just need to bat back and forth whether you can define words as feelings. I kind of think TRAs stay away from these groups because so many of their arguments are faith-based in nature when you boil it down they just demand you believe what they believe or you're a bad person. I don't find transmeds do that nearly as much.

A lot of GC folks will say "Proceed with extreme caution for minors / need more research," like Abigail Shrier and Lisa Littman aren't hardcore "abs no transing of children," but well see "Caution and research." Like if we went back to the olden days where maybe 1 in 10k people were being medically transed (I think that was a number I heard somewhere) I don't think GC would care that much.

Like you're right they don't see perfectly eye to eye - but the disagreements, esp in the context of TRAs, can often amount to at most a subject change where we end up talking about Biden's VP pick or how great ponies are.

Yeah, I support research into it and extreme caution. I remember arguing with some transmeds on the old sub who made use of a lot of pseudo-science and acted like we can definitely tell who is trans even with young children so we should start them on blockers very early. I'm definitely very much against that but there are obviously gradations in both positions. I just think there is definitely enough differences between GC and TM to have some pretty lively discussions.
