well well well

I think this is the first time I've been a member of a banned thing online. On a cancelled list.

The banning of GCdebatesQT does feel a bit like the break up of a school gang. Where are the cool kids going? lol How will I know if I'm in the best regrouped gang or not?

Cancelled.. reminds me of this quote : "What's more likely: That a load of life-long left-leaning LGBT-supporting women have inexplicably and uncharacteristically all suddenly become bigots or that one might be missing something here?"

Definitely saving this quote!

lol, I sort of feel the same way....I was banned from the JK Rowling subreddit too, for defending Rowling to much and thinking that all this hate toward her is really disproportional.

Someone made an alternative JK Rowling sub for people who actually support JK Rowling after the main one got taken over by TRAs. It was not gender-focused just about Rowling within a week it was banned for some stupid reason. Liking a children's author is "hate speech" I guess?

Ridiculous. They really are going overboard with this. I heard they even banned the detrans subreddit for awhile. I am actually pissed that the misogynistic subs are still up. I am actually not even sure I want to use Reddit anymore really...

I may check out Spinster, too, but one of the nice things about the debate sub is that it had people from both sides. QT people probably aren't going to be comfortable in a radical feminist space. And it kind of defeats the purpose of open dialogue if we can't draw in those people for debates and discussions.

yeah I mean I'm not sure how Spinster would take to literally the man in the dress arguing with them.

There is a general issue here on this sub on saidit that it might not draw enough trans, truscum, qt people in general.

But...I have a background notion that both sides actually want to debate. There will be enough on both sides drawn to want to talk it over with the "other side." But it does need to be policed. I guess over time people will find a place to argue again.

I still think of some debates I had with you, worried19, :) that we never got to finish. Sometimes it's taken too much of my time. But in other ways I could debate this all the time. Because it's so interesting and personal.

One of the things I'm annoyed about is I'd actually written personal things on gcdebatesqt myself that I referred to. That I used in other arguments to defend my arguments. It's all annoyingly lost now. I'll need to check the archives.

If you know QT people from Reddit who might want to join, by all means invite them.

Yeah, there was one long post you wrote to me recently that I didn't get a chance to respond to, and now it's lost. It was that one where we were arguing about femininity and masculinity and whether there were sexual components to them. I also enjoy debating these subjects. And you're right, they're interesting because they're personal, not just theoretical.

I'm upset that most of my post history is gone. Some of it may be archived, but damn, I put a lot of work into some of those posts. I had references bookmarked that I would refer back to when I needed to provide evidence of certain things.

Yeah I was never really quite on side enough for qt. I was too essentialist really for them. I think you might get truscum people. r/truscum would be the place to ask. I seemed to be an opinion of one. lol. I read some agp forums but when I read it I think, "The reason that isn't like that is because agp probably isn't exactly true."

I actually always meant to map out the different forms of gender political identities.

What were all the unfinished topics? The sexual components of masculinity and femininity. The possibility of the abolition of gender, that's too general. Were there other aspects?

I'm still missing the back debates of it.

There's this archive

https://web.archive.org/web/20190228025438/https://www.reddit.com/r/GCdebatesQT/

But it only seems to be the titles. Argh this will teach me what it's like to rely on social media for storage. It's amazing to feel the lose of data in this age of archive fever.

I feel like I need a recap of the history of /r/GCdebatesQT

I also feel like we've lost so much history. I know it was only an Internet forum, but still.

What were all the unfinished topics? The sexual components of masculinity and femininity. The possibility of the abolition of gender, that's too general. Were there other aspects?

I think that was mainly it. I'm going to go post a topic about the sexual components of masculinity and femininity because I think it's an interesting topic to continue to explore.

Funny, I always thought of GCdebatesQT as a playground.
