How fast does it go? Can it go uphill?

At least 35 mph I guess, if it was driving street-legal in Houston as the article claims

This is difficult to believe. This is probably a bicycle hidden in there, and the fuel is evaporating.

Well I think the main reason is because these things weigh like 50 lbs and use a tiny engine and are super streamlined. Seems legit apparently though

2500 miles?! Says NatGeo.

One gallon of fuel could go 5/6ths of the distance across the country? Maybe in a vacuum. Or traveling 3 mph, and driving without a passenger (or driver).

Gas engines are approximately 18% efficient. Diesel is about 25%. They specify gas.
There's a thermodynamic limit of efficiency that can't be overcome. Either it is fake, or they're omitting some crucially relevant factor.

For the third straight year, the Canadian team called Alerion Supermileage won the Shell Eco-marathon Americas student design competition; its 2,564.8 mile-per-gallon (1,090 kilometer-per-liter) run beat its own previous year's performance by 77 mpg (33 km/l).

You can not go from 77 mpg, to 2500 mpg in one year. A 3300% improvement!?
It has to be fake AF. This shit is impossible.

I refuse to believe this bullshit.

No it went 77 higher, now up to 2564.

They're just so aerodynamic and light that they can get this type of efficiency. I mean what does a super lightweight motorbike get? Like 150 mpg?
