My thoughts: both truth, and freedom at their core are usually subjectively viewed. Did the chicken, or egg come first? Can you have freedom without knowing truth?
Our US society has 'freedom', the phrase at least, crammed down our throats; yet we're not free, and what we now consider freedom, is less in value than anytime in our history of 'freedom'.
Truth just isn't as comfortable, and demands self reflection; hence it loses out. Jack Nicholson was right, most just 'can't handle the truth'.
