I don't know anything about my own slavic culture beyond Wigilia and Gołąbki. What is the significance of different geographical locations of slavic peoples? I have never identified with Bulgarians, Serbians, or Macedonians though. Never thought to.

Mostly in cultural influence of their neighbors. South slavs were influence by turks, greeks and italians, west slavs mostly by germans, etc, etc. They are all descendants from one culture, but over hundreds of years differences accumulated.
