METAMy plan for a possible future Reddit community

While this might fail just as anything, I think it's worth trying. I think we should have a public community where we could exchange ideas, debate, share news, memes and so on.

Reddit is perfect for that, since everyone is there and you can easily advertise the sub by crossposting and gain new members.

There are already some Slavic-related subs on Reddit, but they are not designed for what we had or they're inactive (and we wouldn't want to autoban them by flooding them with our "tainted" accounts anyway).

We'll have to stay from Reddit for a while from now, but here's what I'm gonna do:

1) Prepare and maintain some different accounts. I have some older ones which could be used for sub creation, and will prepare some new alts which will connect to Reddit via a special browser profile (e.g. multiple Firefox profiles can be run at once with this command: firefox -no-remote) with custom network settings (different proxy IP for each account - e.g. https://www.socks-proxy.net/), useragent (https://developers.whatismybrowser.com/useragents/explore/software_type_specific/web-browser/) and language setting.

I suggest you do the same - create "high quality" alts for discussing preferably non-controversial issues the way I described above, don't get banned, do ideally nothing you could be reported over and get your account "tainted" in the eyes of Reddit algorithms.

We must not continue with the same accounts on the new sub because Reddit will notice and AHS will probably try to track us down too via the old accounts. The account names should probably be very different from what we have now so it's not obvious to AHS.

I think we might need to take care of this on the sub level also so that old accounts don't join/post there. (at some point r/drama banned like 90% of their userbase for fun - we could do this to prevent old accounts from posting)

2) Wait. There's no point in doing evasion subs now, and especially not from the same accounts we had. This could take months.

3) Create a sub which name and description is not immediately related to r/For_Slavs, with stricter moderation. We already know that removing only content that's reported might not help, so we'll have to figure how to do it while allowing a fairly moderate form of free speech which I liked on the old sub. If we do this right, we'll avoid Reddit's algorithms and AHS hall monitors.

We might need to do some form of manual verification at first so that we don't allow AHS members in. (Mantain your old accounts, we might need them as well for the verification)

4) Take advantage of the ability to make the sub private. This is what we should do after it's creation until it gets some content, and if AHS notices us.

5) Advertise a backup site so that everyone knows what to do if things go awry again.

Yeah the sub bans suck but if you take a look at places like r/europe where a lot of people became redpilled on the migration issue for example it still gives me a reason to participate... Reddit's advantage is the users, we'll need to adapt somehow. There's like 10 people total on alternative platforms lol

Ah yes, I still remember when r/european was banned. That was when I created my account on original voat.

It's true reddit has a lot of users, but the downside is they're the kind of people who would use reddit... Does that make me sound intolerant?

Anyway, what is up with s/For_Slavs? I'm seeing a bunch of activity. Nice sun wheel, btw.

That's nothing. I just saw post from s/For_Slavs in /all 😁

Sun wheel is called 'kolovrat' and I don't actually know why it was choosen as sub logo in the 1st place. But it was and so we are sticking to it, cos sticking is what 'conservatives' do.

Welp the_Donald was on reddit and had a huge userbase so...

We just got banned from Reddit lol. We had a 7k members sub of the same name there that was about issues related to Slavic culture and for people of Slavic descent. Though other people were there too, maybe also because we had an unwritten free speech rule there. Lots of people on there expressed conservative views and that's what made AHS focus on us and got us banned. So we are trying it here now lol

You probably know about bardfinn, then. That's going to be your main enemy at AHS. If you don't, or want more info (all dox, home address, criminal record, etc, etc.), there's a huge thread for him on the kiwifarms.

I believe the number of nazi redditors he claims to have files on is around 30,000.

It's pretty great here, although quiet now. First half of the year was a major drama fest, and we're still waiting to see if the site owner will resurface.

As for Slavs in particular, all I really know is they squat a lot, and seem inordinately attracted to Adidas. Hope you're not a fan, but Adidas seems to me like that aids-tainted blood one of our companies dumped in foreign markets after it was banned in the US. :/

Yeah, heard of that guy a few times and saw him on the latest AHS thread gloating about us. Don't particularly care about who he is, he's clearly a cunt with who reports content on the internet all day for free and that is probably enough I need to know lol.

Saidit seems to be a small community compared to Ruqqus for example, but recently there have been some doubts raised over there about content moderation suggesting controversial subs will get banned, so here we are. Hope we won't have to move to some other god forsaken site, after the ban I learned Voat went down, and now with the Ruqqus thing it seems the options are shrinking. You mentioned some drama, anything we should know about?

Poal is lorded over by the tyrannical AOU, who will ban or disable your account on a whim. Many have moved over to:

New Voat is OK, although @system just went on vendetta against SBBH and suspected sympathizers. The user interface on voat is pretty awful, but I found a color scheme recipe that's very close to saidit.

Dot win has been accepting reddit refugees, and is generally decent for posting and commenting, although a few mods and admins are not onboard with free speech. It's hard to get new dot win subs made.

Saidit is about 4 years old, and originated on reddit. magnora7 first called it antiextremes.com, which gives you a hint about his politics.

This past winter, he installed a literal MtF tranny as an admin, which caused numerous issues stemming from its mentally ill nature. The site went offline the first time within 12 hours of the tranny admin posting a list of "deliberate TOS violations" of the host by saidit, "illegal/felonious death threats", and plans to call the FBI in to investigate saidit users...

(there was a super active troll - loki88 - at the time who I suspect forwarded that self-indictment against saidit to the host, who probably wasn't thrilled)

He's no longer admin, the other admin left, m7 (owner/founder) went out for cigs a couple months ago and hasn't yet returned, but the remaining admin (u/d3rr) has been keeping things running with little drama.

Anyway, stick around. There's a place for Slavs here.

Yeah this is why I don't post any personal info on Reddit, don't have a "main" account and get into feuds lol.

Thanks for that rundown, seems like you've been around. Until now I've been pretty much only on Reddit, no 4chan, kiwifarms or whatever else is out there I only heard of 😅

We'll see if we manage to bring some of the old community here, I appreciate your words.

Don't actually know, but suspect it's some kind of "power retention" policy, which isn't that unjustified in todays online environment.

Have only used the site since January or so, and have just seen a few "banned from reddit" groups posting about the difficulty of getting their own "home sub" made.

tbh, I'm not entirelly sure whats the point of trying to survive on reddit after the ban. But then, I've used it basically only for for_slavs and lurking on KiA2.

But I can see your plan working. And I'd suggest checking tor browser as quicker way to do point 1.

Reddit has users, we need them to stay alive. Not many will be willing to come to some obscure site like this one.

I think we should have a place where people of similar attitudes or common heritage could congregate. Not just because it's a fun thing to do, but also because it's a way to exchange information - the media doesn't tell you everything and places like r/Europe are anonymous, cosmopolitan hives.

Right now there is no such place on Reddit, and everyone is doing their thing in their national subs and we can't really talk to each other, which is a shame.

Not sure how Reddit views Tor and whether it doesn't consider its exit nodes "risky" if spammers use it for example. Though that applies to the free proxy servers as well, who knows.

As well as all of the measures mentioned above you would need to strictly moderate the new sub. You've already mentioned r/drama, which is an excellent exemplar in how to manage a 'controversial' sub; the degens in AHS have been known to post CP and hateful/racist/-ist thing reddit doesnt allow to subs they don't like with sockpuppet accounts to get them banned. You'd need some sort of zero-tolerance policy on 'controversial' content reddit doesn't like and direct it here or another adjacent site.

On a personal note I'd love a new Slavic sub based on culture, like art, songs, folklore, language, etc in general. Might be a good starting off point to rebuild a distinctly Slavic community on reddit.

Yup, we would need to figure out how to do it. I'd like the sub to have serious discussions about politics etc because that among other things is what gave value to r/For_Slavs in my opinion - hearing lots of opinions from people of different nationalities etc.

As far as culture-only related sub is concerned, there is already https://old.reddit.com/r/slav/ or much smaller https://old.reddit.com/r/slavs/ - though not sure how serious they are about their content since some of it appears to be some slavaboo nonsense. Maybe those interested might try going (with new, untainted accounts) and posting there? But the regulars might be less nationalistic also, never frequented these places.

i only used reddit for r/for_slavs. only benefit i can see to returning is to get more based people into the sub. we need to be real careful about AHS trannies sneaking in to this thread

I put this here because I'd like us to see some light at the end of the tunnel (and get some points across like the importance of building new accounts), but when the time comes, the stuff related to the new sub will of course not be public and we'll do everything to avoid getting AHS attention.

i think honestly remove the for_czechs post and just send direct messages to the general userbase of for_slavs like slavicpride and tsarnicholas2. dont want to publicize the re-emergance of a based sub onto that retarded website

I probably need to link to a Reddit page in the private messages otherwise Reddit might think it's spam. I already tried mass pinging from the r/for_czechs thread, and while it worked for u/CottageSamuel in one comment, after a few comments I posted we checked again whether he would get a ping, and the pings apparently stopped working.

Meh, AHS can't do anything to us here. We'll need to be careful in case we decide to create a new community on Reddit though. If we prevent former members from posting under previous usernames and don't announce publicly what the sub name is and do some moderation, we could be fine.

yeah exactly here they can do nothing but they can follow our trail to the new subreddit thats my main worry. and when some of the old users who dont know about saidit find the subreddit when its made they will still be using their old account. even if we use new ones the vast majority will not unless you can somehow contact ALL of the main guys who posted

Now that I'm thinking of it, just gathering the list of users itself might be unfeasible as we don't really have any large archives of the original sub.

If the previous posters do not create new accounts, AHS could easily track the new sub down. That's why it might be usedul to somehow make it look innocuous and unrelated to r/For_Slavs.

But there will probably be further discussions about this if we get to that point though. Other people might have better ideas than I do :)
