This is true. Back then I used to hit the gym frequently but I never controlled my food intake because I thought the exercise would've made up for it. In fact, I actually are more and didn't lose any weight, so I stopped exercising.
But recently I tried to re-evaluate my calories in and out, and realized that I'm eating way too much. I started cutting my food intake down and stopped snacking altogether, and within weeks I've already lost more weight than the entire year when I went to the gym.
I plan to hit the gym again soon, and this time also controlling my food intake too. This time around I'm sure it'll work.
