No one can control everything, but I can control what they are exposed to, until a time when they are ready to sort through things on their own. Who determines when that time is you ask? Me.

That’s an illusion of the level of control you have over what your kids are exposed to. Don’t get me wrong, I hope it works out, I just have seen many parents make the same mistake and that level of attempt for completely control over the influences of children are successful, in the short term, but not forever.

That's not the goal. The goal is to introduce reality at increments commensurate with their ability to understand it and adjust for it.
