The old Fighting Fantasy, Joe Dever "Lone Wolf", and even the old Cretan Chronicles make excellent Table Top RPG adventures. They descriptions are all vividly detailed in the book and GM's can add any other details they like.
Why no Gamebooks? Probably for the same reason you can read and essentially play the Warlock of Firetop Mountain PDF
There used to be a webpage which would do all the rolls and stuff for you but I cant seem to find it. Game Books and TTRPG's dont really compete against each other. Game Books compete against novels and the like, but most Young Teen aimed books are stuff like Divergence and Twilight. Yuck.

I would think people would want new stories. For competing with computer games and such, they would seem to be inferior to actual books for most purposes. Maybe someone should start an indie publisher.
