It seems that a lot of effort is being expended writing books to be used in TTRPGs. To me this seems like a low value activity. There can't be many people playing these games and there will probably soon be a lot less as the covaids jabs take effect on their already feeble bodies. What we need is a revival of the Fighting Fantasy type of game in a book. Surely the time is right.

These books should initially paint by the numbers. They should be set in a realm based on Dark/MidHdle Age Europe. The hero should be a white man. He should be a somewhat ordinary dude called upon to go on a hero's journey. He should achieve a desirable goal - killing the bad guy and getting rich or whatever. The standard common sense stuff.

Does anyone still publish these books? It seems like an untapped market.
