It’s too bad the premise of this show only worked if it was unpopular lol. Now everyone knows about it so we can’t get those genuine, perplexed and freaked reactions from actors/actresses/musicians/athletes/talk-show hosts.

The show would contact the guest’s (or celebrity for example) booking agent, and the booking agent was even oblivious as to what “The Eric Andre Show” was and thought it was just some popular talk-show (as the invitation came from a Warner affiliated show) that would help get them more buzz. Eric has said they would purposefully have the thermostat in the studio turned up to 85-90 degrees and make the guests wait in their dressing room for unreasonable amounts of time lmao. When most guests actually came out, was only when they thought they were on some “cable-free tv” show, not realizing they were on an Adult Swim show made to look like one, so that further added to all of their reactions lol.

Eric said he almost got fucked up a few times, like on the TI episode (you can see that for free on YouTube). Some celebrities were so genuinely scared to the point that they were frozen, like the girl from icarly and the (now adult) kid who “saw dead people”. He’d do fucked up shit beyond the temperature stuff during the interview that the camera couldn’t pick up; on the Jimmy Kimmel episode, he had a special couch made that could fit a person inside, and while jimmy was sitting and getting interviewed, the person inside kept tickling his ass lmaoooo. If you watch the jimmy kimmel episode, he can’t sit still.

I may just be a degenerate, but given the fact that this aired on one of the most popular tv stations, was a time sensitive show, and it’s value depended on the ignorance of the show-business and celebrities, find this show to be a piece of comedic art.
