Well I'm sure this isn't the kind of job you need to spend all your time on. A few meetings here, and round of golf there. You could do both.

I vote for u/TheAmeliaMay, she'd love your nanny state with its expensive booze and laws against pornography.

It would be a serious down-grade. Where I live: you ain't allowed to sell booze, you can own a gun without a permit, and you can say whatever you want without being thrown in prison for anti-revolutionary activities.

If government regulation makes Britain a downgrade, why do you want more government regulation in the US?

It is ignorant to assume the regulation of alcohol is tied to the regulation of firearms — and it is dishonest to proclaim that one who seeks the regulation of alcohol also seeks the regulation of firearms.

Why must Libertarians conflate all regulation as being the same? It is because their ideology is founded upon the childish assertion that "anything the government does must be bad" and "no one can tell me what I can do" — it is less of an ideology, to be honest, and more of simple immaturity.

So you think our freedom to own guns has nothing to do with our freedom to control what goes into our own bodies. Giving up control is the opposite of freedom.

My point was just if you want a government that more highly regulates you, you don't to turn the US into something that suits you, you can just move to a more restrictive country. If you don't want to move, maybe you shouldn't try to make us into them.

The "freedom to drink" is ironic. You ain't free if you're a slave to alcohol — you ain't free if all your choices are made by a drink. It's like saying someone has the freedom to be a slave.

Giving up control is the opposite of freedom.

Exactly. If you give up your free will to alcohol: you ain't free.

you can just move to a more restrictive country.

I already live in the most restrictive state when it comes to alcohol — a state much more restrictive than the UK. It ain't a country, but perhaps it should be.

maybe you shouldn't try to make us into them.

I'm not. If I was: I wouldn't support Prohibition, since the UK allows the sale, yet many US counties don't. I simply wish to return the American Nation to its former glory — to the position of virtue and honor it once held, before traitors and profiteers tore down what we built.

You're so obsessed with slandering me that you started an off-topic discussion on a random sub. s/England is not the place for this debate. I won't respond to further replies, in the hopes that I can somewhat preserve the integrity of this post. I know you ain't happy that I told you drinking is wrong, but get over it. It's childish to take your anger out here at the expense of everyone else.

I wasn't trying to slander you and I have not slandered you. I don't agree with your beliefs and I honestly did think you might enjoy living in a more restrictive country. And how can you be mad at someone who thought of you for a decent paying job.

I won't address the rest if this is upsetting you.

You could do real good with that kind of money. Instead, they're doing this.

Don't remind me.
