I agree about the idiocy of this policy (also fuck Gavin Newsom), but the language you are using isn't technically accurate - they haven't outlawed ICE, but gasoline combustion. Hydrogen burning ICE's are a thing, chop_chop posted an article about one just yesterday actually. I'd much rather see that than this lithium battery nonsense

There are like three HFC cars for sale rn. It's not a viable alternative, AND the same argument can be made from a different angle. There's gas stations on every corner. There's a couple dozen working hydrogen stations in the entire state, clustered in a few big cities. Hydrogen is not an answer any more than electricity is an answer, with today's infrastructure.

But today I learned there's a map for hydrogen stations https://cafcp.org/stationmap

No I wasn't claiming that its viable to put everyone in a hydrogen car by 2035, I was stating that your sentence "California has mandated the end of ICE cars" is not technically correct. I agree with you on this issue, I just think it is important to be accurate when we are arguing for our positions or we discredit ourselves and are less persuasive. How are you going to convince people that disagree with you if you use fancy terminology like ICE in the headlines, but use it inaccurately? It makes it easy (for shills) to dismiss the correct things you are saying (Such as the grid can't handle everyone in an electric car, you are absolutely right) without having to address these issues

Luckily the state has 13 years before the mandate fully takes effect.
