The metaverse is dumb. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you're a Meta stock owner. VR crazes have been popping up since the 80s. It's a neat idea in theory, in practice people just don't like it that much.

This is going to bomb hardcore.

I'm not so sure about that. VR 30, 10 or even 5 years ago is way different than VR today. If you tried it before and didn't like it, you should try with current gen tech (which admittedly is still early adopter tech and a little rough around the edges). I'm actually a big fan of VR, but not the direction Meta is trying to take it.
