If you could find a write up about that, it would be super interesting. It is sketchy how pretty much everyone trusts them, it's a single point of failure.

I have been researching a scam, and the Wayback Machine has been scrubbed of almost all evidence regarding it. If you click the links on the Operation Dormouse entry from OPs list you will see all of them are dead--but one redirects to a page entitled "wayback machine can't be trusted" that constantly reloads so it's hard to read. I'll try to capture it in a mo.
