While all of this sounds outrageous, all of it is true crime and featured in this exceptionally entertaining train-wreck of a docu-series - and like all struggles for power, the true victims are the people and nature. Trump is even considering commuting his sentence.

My favorite part is when the libertarian campaign manager says "fuck the feds". I think he's the sanest one, aside from the cowboy hat documentary producer who got all of his footage arsoned up.

I know right!

This documentary was so trashy, yet I just could not look away. BRILLIANTLY crafted. Whether it is all actaully as stated or completely manipulated like Making A Murderer, The West Memphis Three, or anything O.J. Simpson, I have to hand it to the producers, editors, etc. It's kinda like a microcosm of political theory. I bet you could teach classes on it in parallel to real world examples.

Before abandoned Last Week Tonight after his Jill Stein smear, I remembered that segment on Joe Exotic.

It was brilliant. I hate everything and yet I was hooked. So many layers of morally gray areas piled on top of each other.

I can't believe how many people sold out Joe to the feds. Fucking ex cons being snitches.

Indeed. A tragicomedy on every level. I liked that he helped out the unfortunate, but I don't like it that he exploited them and/or fired them for his ego. And because they don't go deep enough on anything I don't know what to believe. Except. It seems clear to me that the government was without question the bad guy here, as usual, trying to portend they are maintaining some semblance of justice via spying, entrapment, etc. It remains to be seen whether the scammer guy get's followed up on or not.

Yeah I got the impression that they decided to get Joe and just stuck with that despite everything else. Like the hitman took the money and I think admitted that he went to florida and yet was not even charged, wtf. Typical Fed shit, gotta stay busy to justify next year's budget.
