      An open metaverse is desperately needed to compete with FB/Meta. Hope they're successful as it's a huge undertaking.

      Why would a complete failure need competition? Would they be competing to see which project could fail the most?

      Someone is going to create the metaverse. Maybe not Meta / Oculus, but some other big corporation. And maybe the alternative won't be from the Linux Foundation, I'm critical of them also, but there needs to be free and open source alternatives.
