    Why? A common thing is always on the first page. For a rare thing, knowing the exact page can be useful.

    I get the best results from Google / Startpage. The latter can be accessed again through Tor, so it's good for privacy. But I'll say that DDG's video search is great – better than the manipulated Youtube results. Perhaps DDG's regular search is better for topics that get censored in general.

    As we try to degoogle we end up creating unique browser fingerprints that make us even easier to identify. Go vanilla with a vpn and don't do anything that would make your parents or children ashamed of you.

    Was looking for an alternative to more mainstream translators/dictionaries and that dict.cc might be somewhat usable. Only downside is, the database is not under free license, so I don't really have a motivation to contribute translations (small projects often die and in this case, all translations would be lost).
