This not only gives 'theory' a bad name but reading the comments also gives Agent Smith a not deserved elevated status above the other agents.

Smith isn't an AI, it's just an algorithm with above superuser clearance, Neo hit his 'delete yourself' function with a sudo and the delete function was faulty and returned another Smith now with su privileges and scriptkiddied itself out of the virtualization confines.
