Yes, it can. You should really avoid simple carbs and refined sugars even if you don't have cancer.

Also, being fat means that there are either other issues going on or poor dietary choices. So much is in our food that can cause cancer. If you aren't being selective about what you eat and where you get it from, then you are putting your health at risk.

That said, I do think that some people who don't comply can be targeted for diseases and illnesses.

Being a bit overweight is protective for older people.

The same dietary advice does not apply at every age.

Protective?? Are you seriously trying to justify obesity and call it healthy?

That'd delusional. And no, refined sugar and simple carbs are bad at any age and can increase growth of cancers.
