Need help with an idea; fixing a tablet to my bedroom ceiling.

Will probably never end up doing this, but I want to fix a tablet to my bedroom ceilling so that when I wake up in the morning I can read a new qoute everyday. I can find a way to mount it to the ceilling but would like to know how to make it so it automatically turns on at a certain time of the day, and turn back off again after a few hours in order to preserve the battery life. I need it so it automatically boots up the necessary program so that it displays the qoute without me having to unlock the home screen too.

Why make it so complicated? low tech solution Jesus-Christ, are you beating around the bush for the solution to a more naughty plan? Put a mirror up there like already. :)

Sounds fun. iOS? Android? Are you willing to disable the lock screen password? Is another PC or server running 24/7 to push shit to the tablet when the time is right?

I've seen similar things done with arduino or raspberry pi with a screen.

Android, yes, no. Would I need a server? I honestly don't know a thing about those type of things, I was honestly just assuming that there'd be some sort of program or app that would atleast make it so it boots directly to a gallery of saved qoutes or something. Ideally it'd be connected to some sort of website. Any directions you could lead me in so I have an idea of where to start?

Yeah I'd imagine that some sort of app like this exists. The whole turn on at a certain time part might be difficult. Here's a start?

An app that loads up a web page on alarm sounds pretty cool, so you can jump into a video or a slideshow or whatever.
