On Perspective: I believe that the authors opinion and POV being made clear up front increases the credibility of a work. You can write an incredibly biased post, article, or paper and then load it to the gills with facts and statistics that support your stated objective. This is quality because it is generally safe to assume that the author anticipated counter arguments and already supplied facts or evidence that shut those down.

Unbiased writing in truth does not exist - if an author doesn't care about a topic or have some stake in it, they won't write about it at all. So, if something has the appearance of unbiased instead of trying blatantly to convince you of something / it generally tends to omit facts that are inconvenient to the conclusion that the author wants drawn. Expecting that you are well informed because you went to a "neutral" place to get information will lead you down a path of extreme ignorance.

While bias is unavoidable, there are some sources that are more credible, factual, verifiable. Not all knowledge is created equally and a critical approach is neccessary to avoid the spread of misinformation. The more people recognize that there are tools available to help them make an informed and accurate assesment, the more people will elevate discourse and community engagement on a social level.
