The people pumping gas, working a pharmacies and gas stations, hardware stores, etc, usually don't have paid sick leave and can't afford time off work.

Then they need to quit and find better jobs. Oh, wait. That is already happening.

You sound like my dear old dad. Think he's been away from shit work too long. Someone has to work those jobs, and whoever it is, if they can't take sick leave, they're a vector for infection.
