I watched this stuff cure a friend of mine. Dude went weeks of suffering. Someone brought it up from Mexico and gave it to him for free. The next day he was fine.

Yes. That is a very common story.

What form was it in? I have the paste version from Amazon, even though I'm unlikely to actually catch the coof. Tablets or capsules?

I don't know.

If you haven't seen it, the comment by /u/InvoluntaryHalibut has good dosage info for the 'horse paste' I linked on amazon. If you have a doctor you know would prescribe it if you got the coof, that might be the better way to go. Too many of them are going along with the hoax imo.

I read it. It is a good, easy to read review of the research on ivermectin and its effectiveness on covid as well as safety data, proposed mechanisms of action.

I bought a 3x 6 gram package, just in case the coof comes for me.

In a much larger follow-up prospective, observational controlled trial by the same group that included 1195 health care workers, they found that over a 3-month period there were no infections recorded among the 788 workers who took weekly ivermectin prophylaxis, whereas 58% of the 407 controls had become ill with COVID-19.

To say that this paper presents ivermectin in an extremely positive light for a number of reasons would be an understatement.

Scroll down to Table 3. to see the range of dosages they're using, and the results they're obtaining.

Ivermectin tablets and cream are prescription medications in the United States and this "for horse use only" medication is only an example of an Ivermectin product. Certainly no one should buy this for their own use and take 12 to 18 mg daily for 4 to 5 days upon coof symptoms. Go to your commercial medical provider and purchase the best advice they're allowed to dispense by law.

I bought the same product too.

The dose for horses, humans, most mammals is 0.2 mg / kg which works out to about 1mg for every 11 lbs of body weight. The dispenser on the durvet product is easy to dose to the nearest 50 lb increment of body weight so you dont really have to worry about the number of mg. But 50 lbs of medicine has 4.5 mg of ivermectin, so its easy to dispense 13.5 mg (125 to 174lbs) or 18 mg (175 to 224 lbs). There are about 6 to 8 doses for an animal in the 150 - 200 lbs range per tube.

The study discusses the drug interactions and and side effects which are essentially none in these doses. Could not find anywhere in the literature where an overdose led to death in a human. In 50 years. Lethal dose would be theoretical like 30x the normal dose. NOT shown to be safe on pregnant animals.

Most studies are using one dose a day for 2 to 5 days for mild to moderate covid patients. A few are using 2 doses a day.

An elderly family member has been using about 1/4 dose once a week for covid prophylaxis. ( i.e. ~0.05mg/kg or 4.5 mg for 200 lb person. ) For about 5 mos. No problems. The current recommendations are about 1 to 1.5 doses per month. Some studies have gone a bit higher. Effectiveness measures are comparable to vaccine. Plus its never killed anyone.
