To clarify my angle: Big Brother is the state.

The state's duty is, in theory, to ensure rights of citizens.

Among other rights, people vulnerable to COVID have the right to live. But people less vulnerable will spread the virus.

I personally believe the state response is proportional to the danger.

Do you have arguments showing otherwise?

History is replete with examples of the government utterly lying about almost everything, including crisis events. EVERY war is started under false pretenses. JFK, RFK, MLK assassinations were not what the "official narrative" stated. 9/11 is utter bullshit. 2003 Iraq War was based on lies. The 2008 bailout was a complete scam. The Carbon Tax is a scam. The surveillance state has been growing illegally amid endless lies, and now they've just decided fuck it and surveil everyone all the time. The 2013 NDAA legalized domestic propaganda, and with that came the fictions known as the Boston Bombing, a slew of "lone" shooters and engineered crisis events. The CIA and Mossad are funding ISIS and the US government won't even pass Tulsi Gabbard's "Stop Funding Terrorists Act". There is no shortage of Machiavellian malevolence in all governments everywhere.

Your blind faith is unearned. But we've all been brainwashed and trained from kindergarten onwards in our Prussian education systems to be good obedience subservient workers that serve the ruling class.

You are correct here. I retract my claim about the state doing its duty in general. But in these cases, I can find motives for the state: they gain money or power over you. What do they gain from me sitting at home?

Ideally, I would have a parallel system of my own, through which I could check anything. Absent that, I have to rely on other people.

The government's story lines up better with the reality I percieve. Sure, there have been discrepancies (i.e. masks are not useful, then gov buys enough, then masks are useful again), but there is nowhere near as much bullshit as alternative media, whose interest is to make money off sensationalism, and do not stand up to even the weakest of inquiries.
