The problem is most children living in urban and suburban settings have parents that both work. Taking them out of school and putting them in a private daycare is going to be costly and statistically so far children haven't been as affected as geriatric or immuno-compromised individuals.

But, i think airports as well as bus and train terminals are probably the biggest spreader of the virus now. One sick person in the terminal has the potential to delivery the payload all across the U.S..

I agree, this is an important point about the daycare aspect and both parents working. I think most kids over 8 or 10 should be able to stay home alone by themselves without problems. But like the 5-7 year olds... you can't exactly just leave a 5 year old home alone. So what is the parent to do?

I was seeing a college that shut down, and also kicked all the students off of the university housing! Those people don't have alternative housing plans, so the university is basically dumping them on the street even though they've pre-paid for their housing!

There are a lot of twists and turns to this whole "shutting everything down for coronavirus" thing, and it's good to pay attention to the finer points of it.

That's terrible. Many of these college students will now go back to their parents homes, potentially carrying the virus to parents/grandparents smaller communities that may not have had exposure.

None of this is thought out at all. It's sheer panic from everyone with any type of authority. The President really needs to address the panic part of this.

Unfortunately, because of the media bias, i don't think it would do any good. About the only way he could get the media to look even remotely objectively is if he endorses the corona virus.

Yes many seem to be acting to limit their liability rather than actually help people.
