Got all this at Costco. Choice NY strip $10/lb. Choice Boneless Ribeye $11/lb. I think Prime was close to $20/lb. Used my vacu-sealer to prep for the freezer.

That's not terrible prices considering the market. I still miss getting NY Strip for $4/lb on sale before covid. These days that gets you ground beef.

Right? The local supermarkets are more expensive for lesser quality. I'm afraid prices will go up again this year. Usually, we only get one pack, but we have a small chest freezer, so we thought we'd use it.

Prices are projected to go up. I personally hope that if people stop buying steak because of the price, the price will fall again.
They're talking about 40% rises in rent....
When I was growing up we'd have steak once a week. I took for it granted. I didn't realize that not everyone did that, even back when meat was cheap. But at least I've had my fill of steak for cheap.

Cooking steak at home is not too expensive, but have you seen the prices at the steakhouses? It costs my wife and I over $60 the last time we went, and that's a place you can wear jeans and a t-shirt.

Cooking steak at home is not too expensive
It's not like we can't do it, just things we'd rather spend the money on. If rent jumps 40% though, food vs. a place to live will be a real issue. We didn't increase our food budget as things went up, we changed our spending habits instead. I enjoy trying to make good food on the cheap. I loved r/eatcheapandhealthy till they banned me, I don't remember exactly why but at first I thought the mod was just kidding with me about a ban.

Ha. You got banned from a frugal food sub?
I think rent has topped out, or is close to it. I also think house prices will start falling soon.

Oh yeah, I remember the reason. I was writing about how I dislike the instapot. I think instapot pays to advertise there, or did.
