I knew so many people growing up who were into Magic or Pokemon. I'm so glad I never got into that shit. Paying a small amount of money for a chance at getting something "valuable". How is that not technically gambling directed at minors?

Once you start noticing the pattern, you quickly realize the main reason many governments discourage "gambling" (and many conglomerates lobby against it) is because it drains money from other, more "socially acceptable" money sinks, that act similarly but cost less goodwill.
