Aristotle thought that constant training was neccesary to give shape to our souls and that true happiness could be achived by completing that role of ours. I think there's been some effort from the ruling groups to make our healthy routines difficult to achieve but we have a duty just with ourselves to resist that bad influence of theirs.
I think Aleister and other people involved with magic have noticed the effect that routine, repetition and rituals can have on reality. I like to link it to the ether theory too.
I think we have a sacred duty to reach our full potential as humans and routine and repetition can surely help us to give shape to our souls.
