Here in N. California, many people still believe the covid nonsense, but the mandates have been effectively lifted, even for unvaxxed. In my area at least, you can just about walk into any store or restaurant now without wearing a mask or showing a vax pass.

Do you still have to wear a mask or show a vax pass there? That would be pretty intolerable. But if people are just walking around wearing masks, who gives a %&#@?

Legally there is no requirement. The issue is that people are getting considerably more stupid than they were before. At this point they can't reliably make a hamburger and can barely drive. Whether this is from oxygen deprivation from the mask, or brain damage from the vaccine, or something else, I can't say. But idiocracy has arrived here (and to the rest of Mexico based on my last trip to Cancun) and so I would rather not leave home.

Well, how was Cancun otherwise? Are the beaches worth visiting, at least?

Where I was the beach was washed away and they didn't replace the sand. So I swam in the pool. I don't see any reason to visit Cancun.

Why didn't you go to Playa del Carmen instead? Then you might have had a much better time. It's nearby, and it's really nice.

What about Cabo San Lucas? Have you been there?
