This seems like the fairly standard position in the modern world. It doesn't seem like you have made much progress beyond realising your plight. You may have left things a bit late.

Totally agree.

So what's your recommendation?

Buy a degree from another country, make a fake job history from businesses that went under during covid, and get cushy job. You got nothing to lose, go big or go even broker.

Pick a different field too. Web dev sucks donkey balls. Pick something you kinda like doing, it'll be easier to learn. If nothing else, English teachers are always need abroad.

I was a trucker for 15 years, attended a ROP class for MCSE certifications and worked at scientific games for 16 years. I'm sure you have schools, programs in your area for web development but for a good paying job you need a bachelor's degree in computer science, start here.

My goal is to be in a position where I don't need degrees to get ahead professionally. I already have a bachelor's anyway. And lots of web developers don't have degrees in comp/sci. Why that particular university? That's in Germany.

My two grands kids attended LMU and there at did well, anyway it was only recommendations and having a degree in computer science is not a requirement to find a job in web development.

I think the main requirement for success in business is personal connections. If you have a lot of personal connections then you can get people to help you and you can find opportunities through other people. If you don't have a lot of personal connections, then I suggest you start networking any way you can. I am in this situation and I am constantly trying to find tolerable people to work with which is difficult in a world of scum. The business scum in Silicon Valley have a huge advantage over someone like me because they are so well networked.

I'm in a similar boat right now.
