Duh. You just figured this out Mr. Smarty Pants? The borders are open to Mexico. Bring a passport and get a six-month visa. You are going to have a helluva time getting permanent residence in Mexico and the sames goes for a bank account.

Have you looked around this sub? Mexico's covid nonsense makes it a questionable choice. I will look at Costa Rica this week.

Can US citizens enter Costa Rica now? If so, someone wishing to get out of the US could go to Mexico first and then on to Costa Rica before deciding which is better for them I'm not certain but people have told me that Costa Rica is more expensive than Mexico. I was living in Mexico until six years ago and, then, found it quite livable on my income, none of which comes from the US. I do apologize if I was snide about the man in your link but I have been saying the same thing for years and heeding my own advice by living in Asia. In fact, what he is saying is, in my opinion true and it is time to make your escape plans.
